For the past few years, I've been musing on how we are affected by the speed at which we live our lives. While the industrial revolution fundamentally changed our physical world, the information revolution, in its various incarnations, has changed our psychological world. As we face the crisis of climate change, the former revolution has taken us to the edge of a global physical catastrophe. What are the effects and developing consequences of the latter, newer revolution? Are we already seeing the limits of our current dominant cultures being breached as both individuals and communities feel increasingly vulnerable?
